Premier Lakes reports lake maintenance, board addresses stormwater and standing-water concerns

At the Aug. 27 meeting, Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes told the River Ridge board that the lakes are "in very good shape," preservation and dry-retention work is underway, and crews had removed fallen trees from the Florida Power & Light ditch and outfall structure ahead of an expected tropical storm. Kurth said repairs to the Lake H1-B nano-bubbler, which lost prime after being turned off, would be completed the next day, and Premier Lakes increased service frequency from quarterly to monthly during the rainy season.

District Engineer Charlie Krebs reported the MRI project to replace Pinehurst valley gutter inlet grates is about 80% complete and said he will provide the asphalt patch schedule. Krebs noted parts of the community received almost 8 inches of rain over two to three days while the roadways are designed for about 5½ inches in a 24‑hour period. He suggested the Club could add a drainage connection to E1-A to bypass inlets and pipes during high flows.

A resident said standing water from Tropical Storm Debbie was coming up through a slab and causing mold in a unit; Mr. Krebs said he does not believe the standing water is the cause because other units did not report similar issues and referenced prior developer activity that broke a Pinehurst connection in 2022. Resident Anita Bachragh asked that a downed tree by River 9 Catch Basin #134 be stood upright and asked for the conservation area to be reconsidered for clearing; Mr. Willis asked for photos so staff can review the request.
