Lake maintenance update: algae reported, compressor noise lowered but tone remains; Edgewater planting delayed

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes reported that lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are in good condition overall though seasonal algae growth was observed. Kurth said a palm tree on the shoreline of Lake E7A was removed and plantings are scheduled for the near future.
On the Masters Lake compressor, Kurth said installing a cabinet reduced the measured sound level from 64 to 52 decibels. Operations Manager Shane Willis countered that the remaining concern is the tone of the aerator, not just measured decibels. Staff discussed possibly moving the compressor; Mr. Willis will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth to study relocation and report findings at the next meeting.
Mr. Schultz summarized ongoing flooding concerns in the Edgewater area and recommended a meeting with Edgewater Association representatives. The board reached consensus that Canna lilies should not be planted and decided to delay planting in Lake E4-A until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Association. Mr. Kurth left the call after his report.
