The Village of North Fond du Lac Board of Trustees approved a reallocation of monthly employee insurance contribution amounts for 2024 after a contested roll-call vote.
Administrator Nick Leonard proposed moving some contribution amounts to create more similar percentages across coverage tiers: his proposal would decrease the monthly employee-only contribution by $20 and Employee+Children by $10, while increasing Employee+Spouse by $10 and Family by $20. Trustee Mike Will proposed a modification to keep the Employee and Employee+Children amounts unchanged and only increase Employee+Spouse and Family; that proposal failed on a roll call.
The board then approved Leonard’s original redistribution on a motion from Trustee Chuck Hornung. The roll-call result recorded in the minutes was: Duffy—yes; Hornung—yes; Streetar—no; Price—yes; Will—no, producing a 3–2 outcome in favor of the redistribution.
Trustees debated the fairness of shifting contributions between tiers but approved the plan as presented. The change will alter monthly employee costs beginning with the next plan year; the minutes do not specify the administrative start date for the contribution changes.
