North Fond du Lac trustees approve UHC health plan with higher deductibles; dental and vision plans adopted

The Village of North Fond du Lac Board of Trustees voted to renew health, dental and vision coverage for 2024, approving a UnitedHealthcare plan with higher deductibles and adopting Delta Dental and Superior Vision plans.
Administrator Nick Leonard presented renewal options and recommended the board remain with UnitedHealthcare while increasing deductibles from $3,000/$6,000 to $5,000/$10,000, saying that plan represented roughly an 8% increase compared with the prior year but was the most affordable option the village reviewed. Trustee Mike Will moved to approve the UHC $5,000/$10,000 plan; Trustee Chuck Hornung seconded. The motion passed on a unanimous voice vote.
Leonard also presented dental and vision proposals with no premium increases. The board approved the Delta Dental plan after a motion from Trustee Ann Price and a second from Trustee John Duffy. Trustees then approved the Superior Vision plan on a motion from Trustee Chuck Hornung and a second from Trustee Ann Price. Trustees clarified that the vision plan covers eye exams and is offered to all employees, including those who do not enroll in village health insurance.
The board also received a brief staff update on the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds and on a security camera project; Leonard said one proposal remained outstanding. No changes to the security camera project were voted on during the meeting.
The board’s approvals take effect for plan year 2024 under the terms presented at the meeting. Staff will proceed with vendor paperwork and enrollment as required.
