The Cooch County Board authorized staff to advertise for bids on phase 1 of a multi‑part ATV trail project proposed by the Voyager Country ATV Club. The project would extend a trail from County Road 3 to the Kaptokima ATV Trail at the St. Louis County line.
Staff (presenting for the highway/parks partnership) said the federal Recreational Trails Program grant backs the project and that the club will provide the required 25% match from a dedicated account. An engineer’s estimate in the meeting packet placed construction costs at $344,869. Staff said bid opening and subsequent board approval would follow the advertising period.
Commissioners approved a motion to advertise for bids; the action passed by unanimous voice vote. Staff said the project would return to the board for final award after bid openings.
