Council to draft resolution urging county livestreaming; America 250 grant application in progress

Mayor Rok told the council on Oct. 29 that Alpine, Thayne and Afton have passed resolutions encouraging the Lincoln County Commissioners to livestream meetings and that Star Valley Ranch was referenced as an example for public-meeting streaming. Duke Dance of Star Valley Independent contacted the mayor about the county meeting and noted the town was mentioned multiple times; the council agreed to prepare a similar resolution to include in the November packet in solidarity with other municipalities.

Mayor Rok and Administrator Aitken also updated the council on the town's America 250 grant application. Letters of support were due the next day; the town had a draft and planned to file the official submission the following week. The town received a letter of support from Bob King, who chairs Lincoln County's America 250 planning committee. Aitken said the grant office reviews applications in batches before sending them to the state for approval.

Other items included a brief announcement that the town will mark the 20th anniversary of incorporation on Nov. 8 with cake after the November council meeting; Mayor Rok reported the Planning Commission will review whether to rezone Sunrise Mountain Estates from Planned Residential Development to single-family residential; and the council agreed to move the second monthly work session to the fourth Tuesday beginning in January so council meetings remain on Tuesdays and the Planning Commission can return to a Wednesday schedule.

Councilman Bitter moved to adjourn at 7:06 p.m.; Councilman Merrill seconded and the motion passed (all ayes).
