Whitehall Fire Department honors deputy fire marshal Madison Belt for life-saving tourniquet response

Whitehall Townships fire chief presented a lifesaving award to Deputy Fire Marshal and firefighter Madison Belt for her actions at a June 16 motorcycle crash.
Chief Fuller described the response: on 06/16/2026 at 1409 hours the Whitehall Fire Department responded to a motorcycle crash in which the rider was still beneath the motorcycle and bleeding profusely from a severe leg injury. He said Madison Belt, who was off-duty and trained as an emergency medical responder, applied a tourniquet on scene, stabilized the patient, and that later "it was relayed to me by the doctors and the EMS crew and to the family that the person that applied the tourniquet saved this patient's life." The chief announced this was the departments first lifesaver award and that Madison will receive the lifesaver pin from the Whitehall Township Fire Department.
The board and audience applauded; the presentation included a certificate of accommodation and public thanks from the chief and commissioners.
Next steps: Chief said the award and pin will be presented formally; no further action required from the board.
