Fannin County commissioners approve multiple variances and make planning commission appointments

A separate variance presented for Rita to build a home about 20 feet from the road edge on Tenoning Road was likewise moved, seconded and approved.
A variance for Nancy and Kenneth Bauer to build near Highland Gap drew concern from commissioners about sightlines at a sweeping curve. The chair moved to table that request for further review; the motion was seconded and the item was tabled pending a better solution for road safety.
The board also approved a variance for Steven Free to build a 24-foot addition about 24 feet from the center of Old Death Forest Road after the applicant confirmed attendance.
On appointments, chair moved to appoint Eddie O'Neil and Joe Tubman to the Fannin County Planning Commission; both appointments were seconded and approved. The board reappointed Lisa Hood to the Fannin County Development Authority for another three-year term and reappointed Amber Twiggs to the Fannin County Economic Development Authority Board for another three years; both reappointments were approved by voice vote.
