The Board of Nursing committee on Nov. 7 approved a slate of consent items and several continuing-education provider applications while staff reported that approvals for some CME providers were withdrawn after missed reporting deadlines.
Carol, the committee staff lead, summarized the IOA statistical report covering August through October and the status of long-term and single-provider applications. She told the committee that certified letters were sent to providers who failed to submit the 2024 annual statistical report and fee on April 21; those providers were given 60 days to respond and did not. "Summary proceeding orders were sent on October 22. They have 15 calendar days after that date to file a written request for a hearing. No requests were received within 15 calendar days. And so the approval for these CME providers listed here was withdrawn on 11/07/2025," Carol said.
On the consent agenda, Michelle Terry moved to approve the IOA statistical report, the single providers approved list and provider removals; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
During new business, the committee reviewed a five-year renewal application for Faith Community Nurses Association (LT0297-0316). Reviewers noted missing narrative items and an absent agenda in the application materials, but staff said the sample documents contained required elements. "If there is something they need to correct, we will make them send the new template to me before they get their approval letter and their number and stuff like that," Carol said. Michelle Terry moved to approve the renewal with a recommendation that the provider add an agenda to its audit paperwork; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
A separate new applicant, Nurse Sales Consulting (Tasha Tavano), was reviewed and approved after reviewers found required documentation present. The committee also examined RN LLC's application and flagged several deficiencies, including inconsistent "classical" references without years, no provider address on certificates or some documents, missing copies of offering announcements and agendas for first offerings, unclear instructor-credit language, and record-retention language that did not explicitly state which materials would be kept. Reviewers recommended that RN LLC submit corrected templates and documentation before receiving a final approval letter.
The committee discussed how to handle approval conditions. Carol advised that providers make required corrections and send corrected templates to staff before final approval letters and provider numbers are issued. On the meeting's votes, decisions were taken by voice; the record shows the motions carried but individual roll-call tallies were not captured in the transcript.
The committee closed its agenda after reviewing the long-term provider panel report and identifying items for the March 2026 statutory review schedule.
