The Village of Denton Board of Trustees approved the June claims and reviewed the treasurer's financial report and the April Keno report at its June 1 meeting. A motion by Doug Rosekrans, seconded by Trent Wheatley, to approve the claims carried.
The treasurer reported fund balances of: General $5,969.16; Water $36,522.18; Sewer $2,815.18; Streets $27,695.39; Community Center $838.72. The April Keno report listed gross proceeds of $422,289.18, a payout rate of 82.39 percent, unclaimed wins of $298.32, the village share of $21,412.78 and the operator share of $52,913.31.
The minutes include a detailed claims listing (Claims List A) totaling $19,094.87 and Claims List B of $4,395.91; April payroll is recorded as $10,695.71. Notable individual line items include a $7,876.87 payment to the Nebraska Department of Environment & Energy (loan payment) and $3,842.00 to Ball Insurance for workers' compensation.
