Denton board sets consistent downtown snow-removal policy; speed study discussed for W. Denton Road

Trustees told local business owners and residents on Feb. 2 that the village will clear snow from village sidewalks, the village parking lot and the downtown business district and will maintain a consistent plowing policy going forward. Chair Joe Hobelman announced the village's intended approach after business owners raised concerns about inconsistent snow removal.
Business owner Scott Zeilinger requested permission to clear snow near his business if village crews cannot, and resident Mike Sammus noted an alley between Lancaster and Cass avenues has been missed by snow removal. Hobelman stated the village will maintain a consistent policy covering those areas.
Trustee Amanda Fangmeier presented a speed study from All Traffic Solutions for W. Denton Road and the board discussed possible measures including wide rumble strips or an additional flashing sign. The study is available for public review at the Village Office; no final traffic-control decision was recorded in the minutes.
