Trustee Amanda Fangmeier told the board she had arranged for Randy Hellbush of the Nebraska Rural Water Association to attend the next meeting to expound on the rate study. The board noted the plan to introduce Water and Sewer Rate Ordinances at the next meeting.
The proposed water adjustment described at the Jan. 5 meeting would be phased over three years and include a $7 annual increase to the flat water rate plus a $1 increase per 1,000 gallons of water usage each year. The proposed sewer adjustments would be flat-rate increases of $4 in year one, $5 in year two and $5 in year three. No final ordinance text or effective dates were introduced at the Jan. 5 meeting.
The board took no formal vote on rate ordinances on Jan. 5; it set the next meeting as the venue to introduce the proposed ordinances and to hear from the Nebraska Rural Water Association representative.
