Under Old Business on June 9 the Haysi Town Council conducted nominations to fill a council vacancy and appointed Allison Mullins by roll-call vote.
Attorney Josh Evans outlined the procedure under Robert’s Rules: nominations are taken and then the floor is closed for a roll-call vote. Nominations included Allison Mullins and Amanda Boyd. Mayor Yates called for a roll-call vote on Allison Mullins; the minutes show Michael Harris, Tim Wallace, Susan Tiller, Debbie Wood and Carter Branham each recorded a "Yes" vote. Attorney Evans said he could swear in Mullins the following day. Mayor Yates then asked Ms. Mullins if she would serve on the Personnel Policy Committee; she answered yes.
The council did not record any abstentions or opposing votes in the minutes and took no further personnel action that evening.
