Chair Mike Briggs called the special meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the board immediately took up the recommended budget reductions. Board members recorded that the reduction from the Board of Finance totaled $113,848 and that administrators had anticipated the cut and adjusted plans accordingly. The board noted the reduction would not result in additional staff layoffs; rather, open positions will remain unfilled.
Board secretary Dr. Sharon Goulet moved to approve the budget; Board member Anne Kirkpatrick seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously, with six members voting yea and none voting nay. The members recorded present who voted in favor were Chair Mike Briggs, Anne Kirkpatrick, Dr. Sharon Goulet, Derek Zelek, Gina Olearczyk and Shane Manning.
With the vote concluded, Dr. Goulet moved to adjourn; Kirkpatrick seconded, and the board adjourned at 6:01 p.m. Minutes were prepared by Shannin Burns, executive assistant to the superintendent.
