Bonner Springs swears in new school resource officer Lindsey Allen

Bonner Springs officials swore in Lindsey Allen as a school resource officer for Robert E. Clark Middle School during the council meeting.
Captain Michael Kelling of the Bonner Springs Police Department introduced Allen and highlighted her background in school-based policing, saying she brings “over 8 years of dedicated service to the school environment” and training in student interaction. “Please join us in welcoming officer Lindsey Allen to the Bonner Springs community,” Kelling said.
Allen took the oath and affirmed she would support the constitutions of the United States and the state of Kansas and “faithfully discharge the duties of a police officer.” Council members and the mayor offered brief congratulations after the ceremony.
The council presentation noted Allen’s previous work in the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District, a meritorious service award and her experience with mentorship and prevention-focused approaches in school settings. The mayor and council welcomed her to the community and moved on to regular agenda items.
