Chase County Schools board approves financial report and year-end fund transfers

Board President Steve Wallin opened the meeting at 8:00 a.m. and the board first approved the financial report. Board member Jeff Banks moved to approve the financial report; board member Jake Banks seconded. The motion passed with recorded yea votes from Cindy Arterburn, Jake Banks, Jeff Banks, Josh Fries, Jeff Olsen, Willy O'Neil, Carrie Terryberry and President Steve Wallin. Dan Reeves was recorded absent.
The board then considered internal transfers to close the fiscal year. Board member Willy O'Neil moved to transfer $130,000 from the general fund to the activity fund and $180,000 from the general fund to the depreciation fund; board member Josh Fries seconded. The motion passed with the same recorded yea votes from present members; Dan Reeves remained absent.
The actions were presented as routine year-end housekeeping to align fund balances for the district’s activity and depreciation accounts. No public comment was recorded during the meeting. The session adjourned at 8:12 a.m.
