Stanton Community Schools board holds hearing on 2025–26 tax levies; no levy vote recorded

Stanton Community Schools Board of Education President John Mandl called a public hearing on the district’s 2025–2026 tax levies to order at 6:49 p.m. Sept. 8 in the High/Middle School Library at Stanton Community High School.

Board members Amanda Tomasek, David Morfeld, John Mandl, Shad Pohlman, Rob Hupp and Brian Wehner were present. Also in attendance were Secretary Darren Soucie, Micah Buller and Sarah Remm.

Board member Brian Wehner moved, and Amanda Tomasek seconded, "to declare the hearing on the 2025-2026 district tax levies open and properly posted and/or published by advance notice in accordance with board policy #8342," a motion the minutes record as carried with all members present voting in favor (AMPVF-MC).

President Mandl also informed the public that the current copy of the Open Meetings Act was posted in the library meeting room, meeting the statutory notice requirement for the session.

"Discussion was held on the district tax levies," the minutes state; they do not include proposed levy rates, details of any proposed changes, or a formal vote adopting a levy at this meeting.

The hearing was adjourned at 6:53 p.m. The complete text of the minutes, resolutions and policies referenced in the proceedings is on file at the Stanton Community Schools Superintendent’s Office and available for public inspection during regular business hours. A notice of the agenda was advertised and a current copy of the agenda was maintained as stated in the notice.
