The committee voted July 14 to forward a staff request authorizing solicitation of competitive bids for HVAC maintenance services to the July 21 council consent agenda.
Director Jason Gerwin told the committee that HVAC services were included in the improved budget but that adding a new operations and maintenance facility will create a price delta. "We need to bid those, see what those are, and then, based on what that price delta is, we would include that in a future budget amendment so that we can pay those bills for the 2026 year," Gerwin said.
Gerwin said he had discussed the item with the finance director and that a competitive bid process is needed. No committee members asked questions during the presentation. A motion to forward the authorization to solicit bids carried unanimously.
Next steps: staff will solicit bids and the council will consider the authorization and any resulting budget amendment on July 21.
