At its Jan. 12 meeting the Stanton Community Schools Board approved a contract to hire Lisa Vogel as a paraprofessional for the 2025–2026 school year.
The motion to approve the Lisa Vogel contract was made by David Morfeld and seconded by Shad Pohlman and carried as recorded in the minutes.
Elementary Principal Sarah Remm updated the board on the C4K initiative, winter benchmark results, the district safety report and recent workshops and trainings. Secondary Principal Micah Buller presented a new classified staff contract (for board consideration), and recognized students and ensembles honored with Fall NCPA Academic All‑State, First Team All‑State football and NMEA All‑State Chorus selections.
The board formally recognized the following students for academic and extracurricular honors: Emerson Vogel; Brooklyn Espinoza; Harrison Blum; Kaelyn Cook; Chase Schwartz; William Bryant; Rylan Hansen; Maci Schellpeper; Hunter Robinette; Gatlin Davidson; Karsyn Dusatko; and Sam Jessen, among others listed in the minutes. Individual recognitions were approved by motion and recorded as carried in the meeting minutes.
Superintendent Darren Soucie also discussed buildings, grounds, transportation, and the athletic training contract during his report, and presented first readings of board policies #3131 and #3132.
No votes or further action on the athletic training contract or the classified staff contract are recorded in the minutes beyond the presentations and first readings noted.
