The Stanton Community Schools Board of Education on Jan. 12 elected John Mandl as board president and completed its annual officer appointments.
David Morfeld nominated Mandl for president; the board moved to close nominations and elected Mandl with Ayes from Brian Wehner, Rob Hupp, David Morfeld, Shad Pohlman and Amanda Tomasek and an abstention from Mandl himself. Amanda Tomasek nominated David Morfeld for vice‑president; nominations were closed and Morfeld was elected with an abstention recorded from Morfeld.
The board appointed Darren Soucie as board secretary and named Amanda Tomasek honorary secretary. Brian Wehner nominated Rob Hupp for treasurer; after nominations were closed the board elected Hupp, with an abstention recorded from Hupp.
All officer appointments were approved by successful motions during the regular meeting, reflecting the board’s annual organizational procedures. The board also approved the meeting agenda and accepted the minutes from its Dec. 8, 2025 regular meeting.
The board set its next regular meeting for Feb. 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the High/Middle School Library.
