Stanton, Neb. — During its July 14 meeting the Stanton Community Schools Board of Education accepted the resignation of staff member Brian Hadcock, approved new employment contracts and ratified several handbooks and coaching assignments ahead of the 2025–2026 school year.
The board accepted the resignation of Brian Hadcock “with regrets.” The motion was made by David Morfeld and seconded by Brian Wehner; minutes record the action as approved by all members present. The board approved a contract for Kelsey Rojas to serve as Guidance Secretary/Data Steward for 2025–2026 (motion by Brian Wehner; seconded by Amanda Tomasek) and approved the Certified Staff Handbook for the coming school year.
On student materials and technology, the board approved the 1-1 Computer Handbook (motion by David Morfeld, seconded by Brian Wehner) and accepted a bid from Computer Hardware for student computers totaling $53,300 to support the district’s 1-to-1 device program.
The board approved multiple student handbooks: K-4 Student-Parent Handbook and the Preschool Handbook (approved in the meeting), and the 5–12 Student Handbook (approved by motion). Motions to adopt these handbooks passed unanimously by members present.
Athletics and activities staffing were addressed in grouped motions. Paid coaching contracts were approved for 2025–2026 (including Randy Hansen for Head Girls Wrestling, Adam Dover as Assistant Football, Kenny Wurdinger as Head High School Boys Wrestling and others). The board also approved a slate of volunteer coaching contracts (including Kamden Dusatko, Paul Poeschel, Robbie Johnson in a volunteer role, Robert Chilcoat Jr., Nancy Praeuner, Corah Linnaus, Jade Bayer, Elizabeth Christensen and Leann Miller). All coaching and activity contract motions passed with all members present voting in favor.
The board approved minutes and routine financial reports, set its next meeting for Aug. 11, 2025, and adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
