Silver Creek supervisors approve vehicle, equipment purchases and 100-foot turnarounds

The board also approved up to $59,614.31 to buy a Cat Compact Track Loader and an optional 84-month warranty priced at $1,990; that motion, made by Helman and seconded by Supervisor Andy Christensen, carried 3-1.
These purchases were presented as township capital needs to support maintenance and road work. The Cat compact track loader decision drew the only recorded split vote; the minutes record the motion as carried 3-1 but do not identify individual yes/no votes.
On site improvements, Supervisors Ryan Nelson and Mike Helman reported meeting nearby property owners and noted an engineer presented two possible turnaround locations for the proposed Big Rigs property. The board suggested a third location to the west of the site and Helman moved to approve both 100-foot radius turnarounds, either to the west or east of the proposed Big Rigs property, with the township supplying the gravel. Vice Chairman Geyen seconded; the motion carried with three in favor and Supervisor Andy Christensen recorded as abstaining.
The board also agreed to host the Wright County Township Officers meeting on Jan. 9, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
