Silver Creek Township fills vacant supervisor seat and confirms leadership assignments

The Silver Creek Township Board on Sept. 3, 2024 discussed a recent board resignation and moved to fill the vacant seat; Supervisor Brandon Geyen made the motion, Ryan Nelson seconded, and the motion carried 3-0. Shortly afterward Andy Christensen was sworn in as township supervisor.
The board also completed leadership assignments. Geyen moved to appoint Mike Helman as chairman; Supervisor Andy Christensen seconded. Chairman Helman abstained from that vote and the motion was recorded as carried. Helman then moved to appoint Geyen as vice chairman, and Ryan Nelson seconded; Geyen abstained from that vote and the motion likewise carried. The meeting minutes record the abstentions but do not list individual yes/no votes for each member.
