WISE launches self‑paced academy; state names four providers for innovation program

WISE and state Inclusion Works staff described new training opportunities and the first cohort of providers selected for a state provider innovation program.
Catherine Titus of WISE said the WISE Online Academy 100 moved this month to a self‑paced, ACRE‑certified online course with supports available and that a practicum meetup for course completers will begin the last week of July, with a six‑month practicum cohort planned in January 2026. "We are very excited to be a part of all of the work that you all are doing in North Carolina to improve job outcomes," Titus said.
Titus also described the provider innovation program, which offers organizational assessment, strategic action planning, personalized training, ongoing technical assistance and milestone‑based financial incentives administered through Inclusion Works. She named the four initial providers participating in the program: Allegheny County Group Homes, Inc.; Vocational Opportunities of Cherokee, Inc.; Neuse Enterprises; and OE Enterprises. Titus said additional application rounds will be held next spring and the following fall.
State staff said provider participation will include tracking outcomes and producing final reports on job goals; the milestone payments will be tied to completion of assessments, action plans and training.
Next steps: WISE materials and sign‑up information will be posted on the Inclusion Works website; providers seeking to apply for future innovation cohorts were directed to the Inclusion Works site for application information.
