Hancock County supervisors approve county inspector for Riverhawk project and adopt new time‑reporting system

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors met July 6, 2026, in Garner and approved multiple routine administrative items, including designation of a county inspector for the Riverhawk energy project and adoption of a new time‑reporting system for county road staff.
On a motion by Supervisor Florence (Sis) Greiman, seconded by Supervisor Gary Rayhons and carried, the board designated Snyder and Associates, Inc. as county inspector for the Interstate Power and Light Company/Alliant Energy Riverhawk project. The same motion approved relocating the county’s sharps disposal container from the Hancock County Sheriff’s office to the Public Health building at 545 State Street in Garner, where it will be available during business hours.
Supervisor Gary Rayhons moved, with Greiman seconding, to approve the use of the Service Bureau time‑reporting system for the Secondary Roads department; the system will use a clock‑in/clock‑out procedure for lunch breaks. The board also accepted quarterly reports from the Hancock County Auditor, Recorder and Sheriff for the period ending June 30, 2026.
Separately, on a motion by Greiman, seconded by Rayhons and carried, the board authorized the County Auditor to issue checks for claims on file as of July 6, 2026. The minutes state a full listing of all claims paid in July 2026 will be published in the July 20, 2026 minutes.
Supervisor Rayhons moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:56 a.m.; the motion carried with all supervisors recorded as voting “Aye.” The board is scheduled to meet next on July 13, 2026. The minutes are attested by Ann Hinders, Deputy Auditor, and Osmund “Bud” Jermeland, chair.
