The San Antonio junta de normas de construcción on Feb. 5 ordered repairs — not demolition — for 350 Southwest 41 but placed strict conditions on the owner’s timeline and documentation.
Stephanie Sánchez, hazardous‑structures officer, presented photographs showing smoke and water damage, collapsed porch elements and a failing foundation. Owner Adela Segovia said she had estimates and financial documentation and said the intent is to repair the property so it can continue to house people with intellectual disabilities.
The board’s motion required the owner to submit an engineering report within 30 days, provide 30‑day progress reports to code staff and complete repairs within 180 days; the motion also required the owner to secure the property and install a fence in front. A proposed 120‑day timeline was amended to 180 days by Ryan Baldwin; the amended motion passed unanimously.
Next steps: the owner must deliver an engineering report to the code official within 30 days and file monthly progress reports; staff will inspect progress and report back to the board if deadlines are missed.
