Former administrative assistant resigns publicly, asks township manager for answers on personnel matters

Paula Perlman used the public-comment period to say she had resigned as Robinson Township's administrative assistant earlier that day and to ask a series of yes-or-no questions about township management and internal communications.
"I was the admin assistant for Robinson Township until 04:30 today," Perlman said, and asked Manager Deming what he had received from her and whether supervisors had been excluded from township business. Perlman said she had submitted a resignation by email and that a requested meeting to discuss matters further had not been acknowledged.
Manager Deming declined to answer personnel questions in the public meeting, telling Perlman, "I do not discuss personnel matters in a public meeting" and pointing to executive-session procedures under the Sunshine Act for such discussions. Deming said personnel concerns should be handled in executive session and expressed willingness to meet in an appropriate forum.
Several meeting participants pressed Deming and others for more transparency; other supervisors and attendees expressed support for Perlman and thanked her for her service. The board did not take personnel action on the record during the meeting and indicated personnel matters would be addressed in executive session or otherwise outside the open meeting.
