Floyd County board approves deputies’ contract, tower camera purchase and other routine actions

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors approved several formal actions at its Feb. 10 meeting, including a multi‑year law enforcement agreement, equipment purchases funded from bond proceeds and payments to outside counsel.
The board approved the Agreement Between Floyd County and the Floyd County Deputy Sheriff’s Association for the period July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029 (motion Rottinghaus/Carr). The motion carried 3‑0.
Supervisors also approved using communication tower bond proceeds to pay $5,384 for the purchase of a 4K camera with a 10‑year licensing agreement and $3,296.40 for installation and hardware (motion Rottinghaus/Campbell). That motion carried 3‑0.
The board hired Herold‑Reicks Surveying to complete a survey on the Wentland Woods property (motion Carr/Rottinghaus) and approved payment to Ahlers Cooney for $976.68 related to judicial review of an IUC permit and $117.32 for Summit Carbon IUB permit proceedings. The minutes record the motions passing 3‑0.
The board also noted approval of a liquor license renewal for Cedar Ridge Golf Course and accepted the resignation of Adam Sears as Conservation Director effective Feb. 27. The meeting recessed for FY27 budget reviews, which covered department head adjustments, moving certain expenses from general to supplemental funds, carry‑over percentages and levy rate options. Supervisors adjourned at the conclusion of the session (motion Rottinghaus/Campbell).
