Board approves four-year CTE plan to shift approval cycle to fall

Amy Miller, the district's Career and Technical Education director, presented a four-year CTE plan and said the district will move the approval cycle to the fall so the plan will span the 2026-27 through 2029-30 school years.
Miller said the plan will be submitted with Perkins funding and the district will use the fall cycle to highlight students and program outcomes. "This 4 year plan already included this year...We're gonna move it to the fall so that in the fall, it'll be the 2627 school year through the 2930," Miller said.
A board member (Committee member) moved to approve the plan and a second was recorded; the board then voted to approve the plan. A board member noted the plan will likely be a consent item in the spring going forward but supported moving it to the fall to better align program highlights with the school year.
The board approved the plan and thanked Miller for the work; staff indicated they will return the item to the consent calendar in future cycles once the fall timing is in place.
