Glynn County Field Engineering Division Manager Adam Cawthorn honored by APWA Georgia chapter

Glynn County on July 16 publicly recognized Adam Cawthorn, the county's Field Engineering Division Manager, after he was named the 2026 Engineering Manager of the Year by the American Public Works Association (APWA) Georgia chapter.

County staff described Cawthorn's 22-year career with Glynn County, noting his service began in 2004 after military service and that he progressed from surveyor to his current role overseeing construction for capital-improvement projects. Staff also highlighted that Glynn County received the APWA Georgia chapter project-of-the-year award in the transportation category for projects valued between $5 million and $25 million for the Canal Road roundabout and related widening work.

In brief remarks accepting the recognition, Cawthorn said he was humbled and credited his team, naming Jason Hartman and Jason Hagan among those who contributed to the project's success. A team member also thanked contractors and county engineers, citing the roundabout's improvements to traffic operations and safety along a busy Glynn County corridor.

County leaders set aside time during the July 16 meeting so Cawthorn and project staff could be acknowledged in person. The recognition noted the project's emphasis on safety improvements, traffic flow, and continued access for motorists, emergency responders and local businesses during construction.
