Public Works Director (speaker 6) presented two equipment purchases designed to save money over purchasing new equipment: a used crane/service truck from McMahon Truck Centers priced at $45,534 and a Pacmac vacuum truck that came in under the $325,000 budget at $285,540. The director explained buying the used truck would free a previously budgeted $125,000 line for water/sewer work. "We're gonna take our the truck that we're buying is 45,000... and we have the $39,460... but we're gonna have to take 5,500 from, like, sidewalk," the director said, summarizing the net budget adjustments.
The chair made separate motions to approve the used service truck purchase and the vacuum truck; both motions were seconded and passed by voice vote. The council also approved a motion to declare the 1985 Mack truck, the Tarco leaf vac and 151 used water meters as surplus, enabling the city to sell the items and recover funds.
