Mebane lists summer events: movie night, bike ride, Juneteenth panel and more

Kelly outlined a slate of community events aimed at summer engagement in Mebane, providing dates, times and highlights for residents to plan around.
Movies in the Park: The final Movies in the Park showing is Friday, May 29 (Zootopia 2) at Mebane Community Park, starting at 7 p.m. Kelly said vendors will be on-site and families should bring chairs.
Community bike ride: A community bike ride hosted by the Mebane Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the American Legion building on West Clay Street. The ride is open to all ages and skill levels.
Juneteenth Freedom Day Community Celebration: The Juneteenth event will be Saturday, June 13 at Mebane Community Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kelly said the celebration will include family activities and a panel discussion featuring Shannon Long (Alamance County sheriff candidate), Reverend Bridal Blueford Ellerby (faith community leader), Sean Boone (Alamance County district attorney) and youth leader AJ Graves.
Other events: Kelly also mentioned Mebane’s Fourth of July celebration (July 4), the downtown summer concert series on 4th Street (3rd Friday monthly at 7 p.m., no concert in June; next show July 17 featuring the Fandinos) and the downtown Farmers Market running Saturdays through November from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Kelly closed by encouraging residents to attend and enjoy the community activities. No event permits, budgets or security plans were discussed in the update.
