Town staff told the board they had submitted a comprehensive contract proposal to renew support for the Greenberg Nature Center for a 25‑year term. Michael Sims, a Nature Center board member, said the board received the proposal that afternoon, appreciated the long‑term commitment and planned to review remaining issues with town staff before finalizing at next month’s meeting. He thanked the more than 5,000 petitioners and the community for support.
Jim Bland, also a Nature Center board member, said the center has been in the community for decades and called the submission a significant step; he cautioned that some details remain to be worked out and said the board looks forward to continued collaboration with the town.
Next step: center and town staff to continue review in the coming weeks with the aim of final agreement and possible finalization at the next town council meeting.
