Board opens hearing on Game On Golf Center site plan; record left open until Sept. 11

The Town Board opened a public hearing on an amended site plan for Game On Golf Center, a driving range at 701 Dobbs Ferry Road, and heard a presentation from Garrett Duquesne, Commissioner of Community Development and Conservation, who summarized the project and review history. Duquesne said the Planning Board issued a unanimous positive recommendation after a work session and the Zoning Board of Appeals later approved two required area variances.

Kevin Kaye, a partner at the Game On Golf Center, described the proposal as a replacement of an asphalt surface with a new concrete platform and a ‘premium’ awning to improve year‑round service for customers, noting the range has operated in the community for about eight years.

Several public commenters raised procedural concerns and asked for documents to be posted and for staff to appear in person to answer technical questions. After debating whether to allow a second round of public comment, the board voted to close the hearing but leave the record open for two weeks to allow submission of further materials; a vote on the application is scheduled for a board meeting on Sept. 11.

Next steps: members of the public may submit additional comments during the two‑week period; staff told the Nature Center trustees and applicants they would work with the board on any remaining issues before the September vote.
