Principals and activities director report enrollment and student activities at Ainsworth retreat

During the Nov. 10 Data, Curriculum and Instruction retreat and regular meeting, district instructional leaders updated the board on enrollment, testing and extracurricular activities affecting students.
Elementary Principal Kelsey Riesen reported on activities, professional development, testing and K–6 enrollment. High School Principal Steve Dike reported on enrollment and listed upcoming student events and programs, including Chadron Scholastic Day, National FFA activities, a middle-school Honor Band clinic, an FCCLA leadership workshop, honor roll recognition and the Veterans Day program.
Activities Director Luke Wroblewski updated the board on fall and winter programs and athletics: cross country, volleyball, football, middle-school wrestling, girls basketball, winter classifications, mock trial, play production, band, choir and FFA. The reports were presented as informational updates; no formal action on programming was recorded.
Superintendent Dale Hafer’s administrative report also covered transportation and buildings and grounds as well as the district strategic plan and superintendent evaluation. The board received these operational updates during the meeting before moving to policy and consent agenda items.
