Krista Taraszewski presented highlights including continued funding for extended Lynx service hours and frequency on key I‑Drive routes, Trade Show Boulevard permitting and right‑of‑way work ($5.7M request), Tangelo Park pedestrian and bus shelter upgrades ($300K request), and a pedestrian overpass at International Drive and Sand Lake Road. The CRA requested $5.0M to advance the overpass into the design phase and to pay for FDOT-required independent peer review for the complex structure.
The CRA also proposed modest affordable-housing repair funds for Tangelo Park and a housing-infill pot to incentivize future mixed-income development. Workforce investments include ESOL classes for employees and a culinary pilot program to grow local hospitality talent.
Commissioners discussed CRA boundary options and whether to pursue expansion into adjacent neighborhoods such as Williamsburg; staff said boundaries and sunset timing will be revisited in future board discussions.
What’s next: the board approved the CRA FY27 budget and directed staff to return with additional details on individual projects and the sunset conversation in upcoming months.
