Clifton council begins FY2017 budget work session, reschedules follow-up

Mayor Bill Hollaway called the Clifton Town Council’s first Fiscal Year 2017 budget work session to order at 7:00 p.m. March 28 at the Clifton Town Meeting Hall. Present were Vice Mayor Dwayne Nitz and Councilmembers Jennifer Heilmann and Eric Hencken; Town Treasurer Marilyn Barton and Town Clerk Amanda Christman attended. Councilmembers Deborah Dillard and Wayne Nickum were recorded as absent.
Council members worked through the draft FY2017 budget line by line and compared year-to-date results to projections. During that review they identified multiple line items that require additional information before the council can complete its budget deliberations. The minutes state that staff will gather the requested information for review in advance of the next work session.
Because members anticipated that a quorum would not be available for the work session originally scheduled for Thursday, March 31, 2016, the council agreed to reschedule the Second Work Session to Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. The March 28 work session was adjourned at 9:20 p.m.
