The Saltville Town Council voted to enter closed session at its Aug. 26 work session under Virginia Code §2.2-3711(A)(3) for discussion of acquisition or disposition of publicly held real property and §2.2-3711(A)(8) for consultation with legal counsel. The motion to enter closed session passed on roll call (Councilman Eugene Call registered a Nay on the motion to go into closed session).
After reconvening in open session, Councilman R.B. Henderson moved — and Councilman Cary Sauls seconded — a motion to certify that the closed session had been limited to the matters announced in the motion to convene, which passed by roll call with each member stating, "I so certify." Mayor Cheri Fullen then declared the meeting adjourned and Tammy M. Woodward attested as Deputy Clerk Treasurer.
What’s next: No formal action was recorded stemming directly from the closed session in the minutes; council will address any follow-up publicly as required by Virginia law.
