Township staff read two ordinances during the meeting and the committee voted to introduce both and schedule public hearings.
Ordinance 16 was read as an ordinance authorizing a land exchange between the township and South Jersey Gas Company covering multiple parcels including Block 2903, Lot 13 and other lots and addresses identified in the official tax map. The staff reading cited New Jersey statutory authority (noted in the reading as section 48:12-16). A committee member moved to introduce the ordinance; the motion was seconded and passed on roll call. The public hearing for Ordinance 16 was scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
Ordinance 17 was read as an ordinance to appropriate $1,800,000 from the capital improvement account for facility improvements and upgrades at the Egg Harbor Township Community Center. Committee members moved and seconded introduction of Ordinance 17; roll-call votes were recorded and the public hearing was likewise scheduled for Aug. 12, 2026.
Neither ordinance was adopted at this meeting; both were introduced and set for public hearings where the committee and members of the public will have an opportunity to comment before any final action.
