The Haverhill City Council on July 13 approved a set of routine municipal actions, including adoption of a revised Solid Waste Management 28E agreement (Resolution 2026–4), authorization of a 2026/27 LP contract with New Century, and payment of presented claims. Council also reviewed the recent fireworks and firemen fundraiser and authorized replacement of the west door on the community shelter house at a cost not to exceed $1,500.
The council approved the clerk’s list of claims and authorized the clerk to issue warrants in payment. Councilmember Vanderah moved to approve the claims; Councilmember Stalzer seconded. The motion carried with Ayes from Faircloth, Hanke, Stalzer and Vanderah; Welton was recorded as absent. The total presented for payment was $8,043.60. The minutes record June receipts of $4,327.84 and a Treasurer’s ending balance for June of $227,086.28.
Councilmember Hanke moved and Councilmember Stalzer seconded approval of the 2026/27 LP contract with New Century; the motion carried on the same recorded vote. The minutes use the term “LP contract” but do not define the acronym; the docket does not include additional contract text in the minutes.
Councilmember Faircloth moved and Councilmember Vanderah seconded a motion to pass Resolution 2026–4, which approves the revised Solid Waste Management 28E agreement. The motion carried with the same recorded Ayes. The minutes do not include the full 28E agreement text or the specific municipal obligations under the revised agreement.
The council conducted an action review of the recent fireworks and firemen fundraiser and thanked residents, volunteers and department members for their work on the event: “The City Council thanks all residents, volunteers and department members who contributed to the success of this event.” The minutes direct residents with questions about the review to the City Clerk.
Separately, Councilmember Vanderah moved and Councilmember Hanke seconded approval to replace the west door and frame on the community shelter house for up to $1,500; that motion carried. Councilmember Vanderah later moved, and Councilmember Faircloth seconded, to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
Officials named in the minutes include Mayor Madaleine Welton (name appears in the minutes’ signature block), City Clerk Jenny Fogle, and the Marshall County Sheriff (listed as providing the contract law enforcement report). The minutes list Councilmembers by surname only: Faircloth, Hanke, Stalzer and Vanderah.
