Glendora Community Service Commission elects Mike Kotowski as chair, confirms liaison slate

The Glendora Community Service Commission elected Mike Kotowski as chair for the 2026-27 term and confirmed a slate of committee liaisons at its July meeting.

Chair David Gerber nominated Kotowski for chair during the reorganization item; City Clerk Specialist Lorena Cordova seconded the nomination and the clerk declared Kotowski the new chair. Commissioner Britney Lewis Parche was nominated for vice chair and the slate was accepted without objection.

The commission also assigned primary and alternate liaisons for standing committees. The final roll-call and confirmation established Commission liaison coverage for the coming year: Youth Sports (Commissioner Steve Salley primary, David Gerber alternate), Teens for Glendora (Louis Porsche primary), Trails (Eddie Kujungian primary), Homelessness liaison (David Gerber primary) and Transportation (Eddie Kujungian primary).

Lorena Cordova read the municipal code provision that governs commissioner committee appointments before the body discussed preferences and made the assignments. A formal motion to adopt the liaison slate passed on a unanimous voice vote (5-0).

The reorganization sets the commission's leadership and committee contacts as the group moves into fiscal-year programming and outreach for the recreation and human services department. The commission did not take up any contentious policy items during the reorganization.

Next steps: the commission will operate under the newly confirmed chair and liaisons through June 2027 and will reconvene in September for its regular schedule.
