The board highlighted these awards as evidence of both classroom and athletic dedication.
Staff reported summer-school participation across programming: approximately 217 students in summer school overall, 21 in the agriculture program, 79 in an elementary literacy program, 43 in secondary coursework (credit recovery/extension) and 74 in the "minds in action" program across three levels. Speakers described a variety of field-trip learning experiences and said a district Facebook page collects photos and narratives from the trips.
A staff chaperone (Jake) shared highlights from a recent Europe trip — stops in London, Paris and Barcelona — and noted transportation disruptions from extreme heat that required itinerary changes. Board members thanked chaperones and staff for organizing the trips and the summer programs more broadly.
