Flowood hires multiple staff across public safety, parks and public works

The Flowood Mayor and Board of Aldermen approved a series of personnel recommendations at regular meetings on June 4 and June 18, 2018, filling positions in public works, fire, parks and police departments.
Public Works Director Garry Miller recommended Michael Luz be employed as a Landscape Department, Laborer 2 Step 1. Alderman Deron Harmon moved to hire Luz; the motion was seconded by Alderman Kirk McDaniel and recorded as approved unanimously by members present.
Fire Chief Jeffrey Welborn recommended three hires in the Fire Department: Shaun Moody as Private 2 Step 4, and Patrick Williamson and Ronnie Bloodsaw as Private 2 Step 1. The board approved each recommendation by separate motions; recorded minutes show each motion received unanimous approval.
Parks & Recreation Director Chris Bowers recommended John Head for Parks & Recreation Department, Laborer 2 Step 2. The board approved the hire on June 18 on a motion by Alderman Dusty Rhoads, seconded by Alderman Deron Harmon.
Interim Police Chief Ricky McMillan recommended Sean Haddakin for Police Department, Patrol Division Step 5. Alderman Kathy Smith moved to employ Haddakin; Alderman Deron Harmon seconded the motion and it recorded unanimous approval.
