At its June 6, 2016 meeting, the Flowood Mayor and Board of Aldermen approved a multi-item consent agenda and several department personnel actions.
The consent agenda (items A–P in the minutes) included approval of prior meeting minutes and claims dockets; acceptance of a Police Traffic Services grant for $50,718; renewal of a HITDA contract and associated grant for $25,948 (the minutes record the abbreviation “HITDA” without further expansion); and approval of a products exemption and bond/new enterprise exemption from ad valorem property taxes for US Foods, Inc., with statutory citations recorded in the minutes (Miss. Personnel actions approved later in the meeting included hiring Javis Taylor as a laborer in the Public Works Department (motion by Alderman Harmon, seconded by Alderman Smith); hiring Andrew Villar as Combat Division Private II in the Fire Department (motion by Alderman Kirk McDaniel, seconded by Alderman Kathy Smith); promoting Greg Doyle to Deputy Chief (motion by Alderman Don Flynt, seconded by Alderman Kirk McDaniel); and promoting Lieutenant Todd Shook to Administrative Lieutenant (motion by Alderman Don Flynt, seconded by Alderman Kirk McDaniel). All personnel actions were recorded as receiving unanimous approval from Board members present. Alderman Dusty Rhoads is recorded as joining the meeting during the personnel sequence.
