Board approves hires, resignations, procurement and a building-trades purchase agreement; several items covered by insurance

Personnel actions approved by voice vote included hires for Mini Mustangs Learning Academy and Minnie Estes Learning Academy (Emma Wadhams, Michelle Collum, Chaney Patton, Amanda Strader), the return of Bridal Crane as an elementary teacher, and multiple custodian hires (Lily Patton, Shelby Evans, Marty Taylor, Kira Grimes, Gregory Linderer). The board also accepted resignations from Trevor Effort, Wendy Wright and Lad Warner.
Procurement and maintenance approvals included a NEVCO quote for scoreboards and related installation by C & F Fabricating; the superintendent said these replacements will be paid from insurance proceeds because the equipment was storm-damaged. "This is coming out of insurance money," the superintendent said of the scoreboard work. The board approved a quote from By State Asphalt to repair selected areas of the parking lot, a flooring contract for epoxy at the high school, and batteries to back up district servers. The board also approved a quote to replace storm-damaged flagpoles at the football and baseball fields; the presenter again said insurance funds will cover the work.
The board approved a purchase agreement for a Dewey Street parcel that the building-trades program will use to build a spec home; administration said closing is expected soon and the building trades class will construct the home.
Other approvals included recognition of a $500 donation from Attica Free Methodist Church earmarked for Fountain Central athletics; updated daycare and latchkey fee schedules with a slight community-rate increase while employee benefits remain unchanged; and approval of the 2026—27 administrative guidelines and the non-certified employee handbook (to be posted on the district platform for employee acknowledgement). The board also authorized administration to pursue replacement of the school corporation vehicle, with disposition by trade-in and a future purchase presented to the board.
