Hebron selectmen approve personnel-policy updates, accept dirt-road grading quote as paving runs ahead of schedule

HEBRON, Maine — The Hebron Selectmen on June 22 approved minor changes to the town personnel policy, authorized routine maintenance spending for town roads and heard that scheduled paving is progressing ahead of plan.
Chairman Butch Asselin and Selectman Mark Cayer voted 2-0 to approve the updated personnel policy after a brief review; Selectman Elizabeth Olsen was recorded absent. Town Administrator Alicia Bryant said the changes were minor and presented the update for the board's signature.
The board also agreed to a $10,000 quote to perform grading on Hebron's dirt roads twice a year, once in spring and once in fall. Town Administrator Alicia Bryant said the quote covers grading "to do them all twice" and the selectmen agreed to move forward with the expenditure.
Bryant reported that paving began June 22 on Allen Road and will move next to Sturtevant Hill Road. She told the board that, under the existing agreement, all road work is to be completed before Aug. 1 and that the contractor is "way ahead of schedule."
On Transfer Station staffing, Bryant said the new summer help started this past week and the town continues to recruit a part-time worker. She noted that an employee identified as Logan will have a last day of July 2 because the Transfer Station will be closed on July 4.
The board signed Warrants #29 and #30 by unanimous 2-0 vote. Selectman Mark Cayer moved to sign the warrants and Chairman Butch Asselin seconded.
Selectman Mark Cayer moved the board into executive session at 5:16 p.m. to discuss personnel matters pursuant to 1 M.R.S. § 405(6)(A) with the Town Administrator present; Chairman Butch Asselin seconded. The board exited executive session at 5:42 p.m., and Asselin moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:42 p.m.; Cayer seconded.
