Paul Brune of Nebraska Public Power District and construction managers from WSP and Forbes Bros updated the Logan County Board on the R-Project 345 kV transmission line on July 15.
Brune said construction has begun south of Stapleton, and that soil-disturbing activities north of Stapleton and east of Thedford have been paused. NPPD will continue right-of-way negotiations, access surveys, mowing and staking for access routes and structures in the paused areas, the meeting record states.
The update noted continuing outreach and coordination tasks (negotiations and surveys); the transcript does not record specific timelines, estimated completion dates, or parcels for construction in the paused area. No formal county action on NPPD’s update was recorded at the meeting.
