The Windsor Board of Education Finance Committee reviewed the Acting Superintendent of Schools' proposed 2026-2027 budget at a special meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 10, ultimately turning the package over to the full board for consideration at its Feb. 18 regular meeting.
Committee members said written questions submitted in advance were answered during the session. Chief of Operations Danielle Batchelder and Physical Plant Manager Carlos Rosario addressed line-item questions on transportation (Site 80), Site 82 (Physical Plant Services) and Site 83 (LP Wilson). Batchelder also responded to inquiries on Site 90 (Salaries) and Site 91 (Employee Benefits). Members requested clarifications of technical terms and corrections for several misprints in the appendices.
There were no public speakers during the forum portion of the meeting. Committee members agreed not to hold an additional Finance Committee meeting on Feb. 12, and each board member was given an opportunity to speak before the budget was formally turned over to the board at 8:29 PM.
The Finance Committee did not adopt budget amendments or take a final vote on funding levels; the record shows the committee completed its review and placed the proposed budget on the full Board of Education's Feb. 18 agenda for further action.
