Select Board member Missus Mahan moved on July 9 that the board enter executive session under the procedural authority she cited as "general laws chapter 30 a, section 21 a 2" to conduct a strategy session for preparation of negotiations with nonunion personnel, naming town manager James Finley Feeny. She said the board might also conduct contract negotiations with the town manager and that the board would not return to open session to take votes.
The motion was seconded and carried on a unanimous roll-call vote. Attorney Cunningham and other members recorded their affirmative votes; the board then recessed into executive session.
At the start of new business earlier in the meeting, Missus Mahan also reported that residents had flagged a large pile of wood chips dumped in the roadway at Menotomy Rocks Park; she said the park and recreation director Wade cleared the material the same day.
