Pittsfield Community Preservation Committee approves minutes, hears about roughly $550,000 available for projects

The Pittsfield Community Preservation Committee approved its Dec. 1, 2025 minutes and heard a staff estimate that roughly $550,000 may be available to fund this year’s applications.
Chair Danielle Steinmann called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. March 9 at Pittsfield City Hall. After a roll call confirmed a quorum, the committee voted to approve the Dec. 1 minutes. "I move to approve the minutes of December 1, 2025 as presented," said Paula Albro; the motion was seconded by Alexandra Groff and carried with six votes in favor, one abstention (David Pill) and one member absent (Carrie Wright).
City staff member Kevin Rayner told the committee there are seven applicants plus the Affordable Housing Trust under consideration. "If they wanted to, all 7 projects could be fully funded and have money for the Trust," Rayner said, and he estimated "about $550,000, including some money going back to the reserve." The estimate was presented as staff projection, not a formal allocation.
Rayner said the committee will hear project presentations at its next meeting, scheduled for March 16; presenters listed for that meeting include Wild Acres, Pontoosuc Lake Park, Roots Rising and Williams Elementary. He added he will schedule an Affordable Housing Trust update for March 23.
Carol Nichols moved to adjourn at 6:40 p.m.; Alexandra Groff seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The committee did not take any final funding votes at the March 9 meeting.
